Il servizio per la pastorale del lavoro della diocesi de Palembang, Indonesia, ha lanciato un'iniziativa "di frontiera": corsi di formazione professionale rivolti a prostitute e travestiti per toglierli dalla strada e offrire loro un futuro. All'appello hanno risposto un centinaio di prostitute e un'ottantina di travesti. Il programma, curato dai padri Petrus Abdi Putrarahaardja e Stanislaus Roosman, della Congregazione dei Sacerdoti del Sacro Cuore di Gesù, formerà parrucchiere, bariste e cameriere.

Le service pour la pastorale du travail du diocèse de Palembang (Indonésie) a lancé une initiative - "frontière": cours de formation professionnelle destinés aux prostituées et aux travestis, pour leur faire quitter les rues et leur offrir un avenir. Une centaine de prostituées et une quatre-vingtaine de travestis ont répondu à l'appel. Le projet, dirigé par les pères Petrus Abdi Putrarahaardja et Stanislaus Roosman de la Congrégation des Prêtres du Sacré Coeur de Jésus, formera dus coiffeurs, des barmans et des domestiques.

The pastoral worker's service of the diocese of Palembang, Indonesia, has launched a front-line initiative of: professional formation courses to prostitutes and transsexuals, so as to take them away from the streets and to offer them a future.

About a hundred prostitutes and about eighty transsexuals responded to the proposal. Taking care of the program are Frs. Petrus Abdi Putrarahaardja and Stanislaus Roosman, of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. They aim at making them hairdressers, barmaids and waitresses.
