Chile
Fr. Umberto Chiarello, vicar general, has prepared an article, Latin American Meeting of Lay Dehonians, held in in Chile May 1-3, 2002. It is available only in Italian.

South Brazil
The "Good Shepherd" made by Herman Falke, SCJ (CAN) at the request of the German Province as a gift marking the centennial of SCJ presence in South Brazil which occurs in 2003, and in memory of the first German SCJ missionaries, founders of the South Brazilian Province. After being blessed by Pope John Paul II the statue will be sent to Brazil and will travel to all houses of the Province to mark the centennial and the links between the German and Southern Brazilian Provinces. The celebrations will begin on the 13th of July 2002 and continue until 15th of July 2003.

Rome

Fr. General travels to Canada to begin his pastoral visit to the new region of Canada which will be officially inaugurated on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, June 7, 2002. SCJs from Canada will gather at Dehon House, Ottawa, to witness the profession of faith of Richard Woodbury, the first regional superior. The new regional administration consists of:

    Note: One of the two council members will be named 'vicar' for Anglo Canada since the regional superior is from French Canada.
