What's New

Bishop Nelson Westrupp, scj, would like to pass on his email address. As many will recall Bishop Westrupp served for 12 years as a general councilor, during the time of Fr. Antonio Pantaghini (1979 to 1991). Just before the start of the 1991 19th General Chapter he was appointed bishop of S. José dos Campos (SP) Brazil. His new email address is: repiscop@tecsat.com.br .

Many thanks to p. Paolo Gazzotti (IS) who will join our Italian group of translators. We are still looking for some French speaks to assist Maurice Légaré in producing the weekly French text, and Spanish speakers to assist Javier Luengo as well.

The Commission to prepare the 2000 May General Conference in Recife, Brazil, met in Rome on December 22-23, 1998. Members of the commission are: Peter Sanders, Angelo Cavagana, Nestor Eckert and Carlos Alberto da Costa Silva. The theme of the conference is: The Economy and the Reign of God.

With the celebration of the Christmas Holiday all those who help to make this web site possible would like to wish each of you a very blessed Christmas. In order to give them all a well deserved break, we'll simply end here with a photo of Fr. General taken next to the crib scene located in the lobby of the main entrance of the General Curia.
