W spotkaniu bierze udzial oprocz Zarzadu Generalnego: 21. prowincjalow, 6. przelozonych regionalnych i 3. przelozonych wspolnot misyjnych (Indie, Filipiny i Madagaskar).
Spotkanie to rozpoczelo sie uroczysta Msza Sw. ktorej przewodniczyl i homilie wyglosil O.General Bressanelli. Nawiazujal on do przypowiesci zaproszonych na uczte, ktorzy z tego zaproszenia nie skorzystali, zachecil przelozonych aby w posludze wladzy mieli zawsze przed oczami nasza misje sercanska i szli z nia na drogi swiata, aby dom -- Krolestwo Boze -- sie wypelnil.
Na wstepie sesji plenarnej O.General podkreslil ze czas obrad jest dla przelozonych czasem uprzywilejowanym aby zyc w komunii, ktora powina byc na uslugach misji. Ten czas konferencji jest czasem formacji ciaglej przelozonych. Przelozony ktory ma byc pasterzem na wzor Chrystusa dla swoich wspolbraci, sam potrzebuje nawrocenia czyli zmiany mentalnosci i serca. By tak sie stalo codziennie mamy okresy wspolnej modlitwy i refleksji.
Pierwszym zagadnieniem nad ktorym pracowalismy wg. zasady: "widziec, osadzic i dzialac" to pytanie w jaki sposob zostal przyjety we wspolnotach i prowincjach list programowy "NC". Ogolna ocena tego programu w roznych prowincjach jest pozytywna.
Najwiecej czasu poswiecilismy tekstom przygotowanym przez "komisje ad hoc": "struktury Zgromadzenia i formy zarzadzania". Dyskusje odbywaly sie w grupach regionalnych, lingwistycznych, jak i na sesjach plenarnych. Owocem tych dyskusji ma byc referma zarzadzaniem Zgromadzenia. W ramach dyskusji o zarzadzaniu Zgromadzeniem duzo mowilismy o wspolnotach profetycznych, ktorych wzorem i przykladem ma byc "Projekt La Capelle". Wiele mowiono czym on ma byc. LA Capelle moze byc miejscem odnowy i formacjii sercanskiej, centrum duchowosci, powrotem do zrodel czyli miejsca urodzenia O.Dehona. Ktos powiedzial w czasie dyskusji by nie myslec o cmentarzach ale o nowym zyciu. Z radoscia trzeba myslec o La Capelle jako o kolebce Zgromadzenia, ktore jest jak Betlejem, gdzie rodzi sie nowe zycie. Ma to byc miejsce drogie dla kazdego dehonianina. Wiele rowniez czasu poswiecilismy sprawa misji i animacji misyjnej. Wszyscy zaniepokojeni jestesmy bardzo trudna sytuacja w Kongo, gdzie pracuja nasi Wspolbracia. O.Ruaro (zastepujacy nieobecnego Prowincjala z Konga) zaproponowal dzien postu w tej intencji.
Krotko mozna strescic atmosfere spotkania jako atmosfere wzajemnej zyczliwosci, wspolodpowiedzialnosci za Zgromadzenie, wspolnego dzielenia sie doswiadczeniami, radosciami i trudnosciami roznych prowincji oraz nadziejami na przyszlosc.
Briefly, I want to share with you my experience of the Meeting of the General Administration and Superiors held in Rome from 3-13 November 1998.The participant, excluding the General Administration, are 21 provincials, 6 regional superiors and the superiors of India, Madagascar and the Philippines.
The meeting begun with the Eucharist conducted by Fr. General V. Bressanelli. The Gospel of the invited guests that did not accept the invitations to a wedding, was an inspiration for him during his homily. He encouraged superiors, that during the time of their service of authority they should focus on our dehonian mission, and go with this mission on the roads of the world, so that the house -- The Kingdom of God -- will be fulfilled.
At the beginning of a plenary session, Fr. General stressed that the time of our discussions is a special privileged and a time for us to live in the communion to the service of mission. It is a time of on-going formation for the superiors. Each one of us, like Christ, should be a shepherd to his confreres, but each one of us needs a conversion of mind and heart. Helping us to walk in the path of this conversion we have a time for community prayer and reflection.
Looking at the question: How the plan: "We, the Congregation: in Service to the Mission" was accepted within our communities and provinces?, we work according to the method see, judge and act. The feedback/ reports were positive from different provinces and regions. Most of our time we spend discussing the theme Structures of the Congregation and Forms of Government prepared by the "ad hoc" commission which took place within the different geo-cultural, linguistic groups, as well as, during our plenary meetings.
The fruit of our discussion, will be the possible changes of structures within our Congregation. Discussing the "Forms of Government" we talked about the prophetic communities which "Project La Capelle" could serve as an example. We were asked: "What apostolic project do we want to put into effect in La Capelle?" We concluded that it should be a place of renewal and dehonian formation, a spiritual center, a returning place to the fountain that is the birthplace of Fr. Dehon. Someone said that we shouldn't think of dying, but we should think of new life. With joy we should think of La Capelle as the foundation of our Congregation, which is to us as Bethlehem where new life is born. It should be the dearest place to each and every SCJ. To express what La Capelle should be to all of us, many different scripture quotations were used. Fr. General concluded this discussion by saying that La Capelle should be an evangelical community.
Lots of time was spent discussing the question of missions and mission's animation. We are concerned about the difficult situation in Congo where SCJs are working. Fr. Ruaro (delegate of the Congo Province in the absence of Provincial) proposed a day of fasting as a way of solidarity with our Brothers in Congo.
Briefly we may conclude that understanding among participants, and responsibility for the Congregation marks the atmosphere of our meeting. Sharing of experiences, joys and difficulties within different provinces and regions give us hopes for the future.
