What's Happening?

British - Irish Province

The superior geneal accompanied by Thomas Cassidy (CU) will make his pastoral visit to the British - Irish Province from November 27, 2001 to December 7, 2001. Part of the visit will be participation in a province assembly starting on Monday, December 3, 2001.

Rome

General Chapter

After consulting the major superiors during their recent assembly the general superior with the adivice of his council appointed the following to the Chapter Prepratory Commission:

The commission will meet in Rome on December 20,2001 with members of the general administration to prepare the instrumento laboris for the provincial, regional and district chapters which will take place during 2002.

The superiros also asked for a chapter of 30 days to begin in the middle of May 2003. Before the end of the year the general superior will fix the exact date and with his council, after consultation with the provinces, regions and district councils the eaact formula for representation to the chapter. This will be published in the general's official letter convoking the XXI General Chapter.

Mission Meeting

Mission secretaries met in Rome between November 19-23, 2001. This meeting was under the leadership of Riszard Mis from the general council.

Phillippines

As of November 19th there is no news to report about Giuseppe Pierantoni, who was kidnapped a little over a month ago from his parish in Dimataling.

THIRTEENTH MEETING OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION FROM ST. JOHN'S

The sermon was preached by Abbe G. Crinon, vicar at Guise, developing the theme TO SERVE GOD IS TO REIGN. At the meeting, the president, Leo Cornaille, spoke. During Fr. Dehon's presentation Catholic Youth, he said: "What is expected from the youth today is action. Each one must have the ambition of being someone who gives something. Each one has a mission in society. We must use our hands to work. God wants this!! These were words that moved the people of the early centuries in the Church...."
