Amândio José Leal da Rocha

Roberto Carlos Nunes de Sousa

On May 5th, in the parish church of Boavista, Porto, Amândio José Leal da Rocha and José Camilo Dias das Neves were ordained to the Priesthood by Mons. Manuel Neto Quintas, scj.  At the same moment Roberto Carlos Nunes de Sousa was ordained a deacon. All three were former novices of Mons Quintas.

On June 7th, two more will be ordained priests at Ribeira Brava, Funchal: José Nélio da Silva Gouveia and Luís Manuel Pestana de Jesus.

Rome

The Rome I & II communities bid farewell to three of its members this week. Carlos Luis Suárz Codorniú, who will be returning to Venezula; Léopold Mfouakouet, who returns to Cameroon; and Adriano Borst, having completed his service as congregational archivist returns to Holland.

Fr. General will be travel to Maguzzano (IS) to lead in a three day program (May 13-15) on scj spirituality "Insieme per fare memoria" (Let us Remember Togther). The program is for the senior members of the province, but is open to all.

The general council will travel to Andria (IM) for a three day 'island experience' (May 15-18), reflecting on Fr. General's letter of February 14, 200), marking the start of our Dehonian Year (cf. Prot.n. 32/2002).

Monsignor Delorme, vicar general, celebrated Solemn Mass assisted by Frs. Chateur and Jacquet. In the chair to the left was the Bishop of Soissons, Monsignor Binet. Also present were the vicars' generals Mennenchet and Parmontier, as well as the canons Rochausse, Delloue, Martigny, and Cronin. Fr. Dehon as well wore the garb of canons. Also present were the president and members of the Alumni Association.
