Summary

While the topic of "Mission and the Missions" was discussed, especially in relation to the role of who shall be responsible for mission animation, the main center of focus was the future of the house at La Capelle (birthplace of Fr. Dehon). The following set of questions was handed out for discussion in linguistic groups:

A. Questionnaire for the Missions:

  1. Are you in agreement with the proposal as outlined?
  2. If you are not, what proposal would you make?
[Editors note: the proposal is to have the general councilor responsible for missions work with province mission secretaries.]

B. Questionnaire for La Capelle

  1. Which provinces are willing to send people?
  2. What apostolic project do we want to put into effect?
  3. For the financing of this work:
    1. Who will cover the expense of buying the house?
    2. Who will cover the extraordinary expenses?
    3. By what means will the community be able to support itself?

Villa Aurelia dinning room

The members of the meeting of major superiors take their meals in what once was space used by the Bank of Rome. The South Italian Province has joined with the General Curia in developing Villa Aurelia as a hospitality center for groups visiting Rome (especially pilgrim groups). In addition with the various meeting rooms and main translation hall the opportunity for other groups to use the facility have developed.
